I am married 28 years to a wonderful man, Tom. We were unable to have children so our three cats are like our children. My Dad, 86 years old, lives with us. I treasure the time we have been able to spend together. I met my husband when I moved to Cincinnati, OH after being discharged from the United States Marine Corps. I spent three wonderful years in Washington D.C. during the Vietnam war era. I worked in telecommunications. The bad part about this was my department always received the news about the war before anyone else, and sometimes it wasn’t good.
I enjoy reading books, especially audio books because you can take them anywhere and are still able to learn. I enjoy warm weather and being outdoors when things are all green and beautiful. I dislike winter and snow. I love animals especially kittens and cats.
Tom and I married about five years after we met. He was working for the railroad (Conrail, formerly Penn Central) at the time. He took an early payoff after 13 years and we bought a bar/restaurant in Upper Price Hill. We were there for 15 years. It was family-oriented and we really enjoyed it. We enjoyed boating and used to boat in Lake Cumberland Kentucky. We spent so much time there that we decided we had to either quit boating or move to Somerset, Kentucky. We chose to move. We bought a mom and pop grocery store with gas and proceeded to make it a restaurant also. We were very successful and really enjoyed meeting so many really great people but it was a 24 hour job. So after seven years we sold and started working in the corporate world.
My husband managed other small restaurant/gas stations and I went to work as receptionist/payroll clerk for one of the boat factories in the area. Monticello, Kentucky has been known as the houseboat manufacturing capital of the world. I did this for five years and times were getting bad and houseboat companies were having a hard time. I got permanently laid off in September 2007.
I looked for jobs for awhile but I really didn’t want to go back into the corporate rat race. My brother, in Oregon, was a part of a company and asked me to join. I really wasn’t very good at the direct selling aspect of the job. I loved the product and didn’t want to leave the company. In the meantime my brother had been connected with Jonathan Budd and we decided to try internet marketing.
I really enjoy blogging so I decided to start a blog on Health and Wellness which is am passionate about and practice as much as I can. I am still learning about the subject and enjoy teaching others about it. I am very much into personal development. I have had many personal problems from childhood to adulthood so it is a subject that I hope to be able to teach sometime in the very near future.
This blog is meant to inspire you and make you want to be a healthier person. Health and Wellness is a must in a person’s life if they want to feel good and have the energy it takes to have a fulfilled life.
